After 40 terrific years, the Shore Run is hanging up its sneakers.
With its scenic route along the shores of Lake Washington, the Shore Run has been a beloved tradition for many families — a tradition that’s been kept alive in recent years by a tremendously dedicated group of individuals and supporters. In particular, we extend heartfelt gratitude to the Friends of the Hutch Committee, Shore Run’s committed sponsors, the Madison Park and Leschi communities, and Orswell Events.
Run of Hope Seattle is a collaborative volunteer effort between the employees of Four Seasons Hotel Seattle and members of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Guild. It is a special day of events that brings together families and community to raise funds and awareness in support of pediatric brain tumor research at Seattle Children's Hospital.
We have recently learned Sunday, June 10 – what would have been the Shore Run’s traditional date – has been permitted for another event. This news, combined with the ever-growing list of run/walks, mud runs, trails runs, half-marathons, and similar activities in the region drawing from our participant pool, has led us to the decision to conclude the event.
We hope to have the opportunity to partner with you again in the future through Base 2 Space, Obliteride, or other new initiatives. Thank you for your participation, contributions, and committed support of Fred Hutch. You have funded research that has saved lives.
Warmly,
Kelly M. O’Brien
